My work focuses on factors that support or undermine organizations’ and groups’ ability to achieve their inclusion, diversity and equity goals. I have deep expertise on both conscious (explicit) and unconscious (implicit) influences on how people think about, feel about, and behave toward others based on group categories such as race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, etc. I continue to conduct research on contemporary subtle forms of prejudice, and on techniques for reducing conscious and unconscious biases. I have consulted with a wide array of government, education, health care, commercial and non-profit organizations and groups and am committed to translating scientific knowledge into effective strategies for promoting deep diversity and inclusion.
